Hi, my name is Karen.  My husband Mark and I live on a horse farm in the Ocala area of Florida. Together with my Mother Maureen, we breed quality Authentic multi-generational Australian Labradoodles for service, therapy and wonderful family dogs.

I have been an animal lover all of my life, and growing up I cannot remember a time when I didn't have a dog, cat, bunny, horse or basically anything I could talk my parents into having.  While I've had a successful career in the creative world of graphic design and photography for over 25 years, my dream has always been to breed dogs. It all began with the purchase of my Goldendoodle named Kea (now in heaven). I bought her as an 8 week old puppy and she never left my side. I was so smitten by the "doodles" right from the start because of her happy and people oriented personality, her non aggressive temperament and non-shedding coat that I just fell in love. When you have a doodle you start knowing doodle people, this is where I realized that doodles were being bred without goals and breed standards in place for things like coats, temperaments, and mostly health considerations.  Breeders were just matching any Poodle and Lab/Golden together and the results were basically "willy nilly" and not ethical breeding for healthy dogs for the future. So my dream began with research on how to breed a quality "Doodles" for family pets, service, or therapy that were constant in temperament, health, coat, and size. That is when I chose to breed the Australian Labrdoodles. In 2006 I purchased my first two foundation female Australian Labradoodles.

 

Because I believe in health testing and ethical breeding. I belong to a The Worldwide Australian Labradoodle association that regulates me and other ALD breeders. I am also a founder, and was on the Board of Directors for The Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association for many years. This organization unites worldwide Australian Labradoodle breeders in a mutual commitment to the long-term benefits of high standards in breeding practices and the cooperative building of a comprehensive and accurate database to preserve pedigrees and health information. 

Breeding Australian Labradoodles for service, therapy, and family pets has been a dream of mine.  I spent years researching pedigrees (which is actually never ending) breeders, and owners, trainers, then I finally purchased my first two foundation females. Although I was a fairly new AL breeder, I was not new to animals, dogs, or knowledge.  To ensure my success at producing top quality Australian Labradoodles I had many experienced, top breeders mentoring me, and helping me make good choices in the beginning. Now after many years of breeding Australian Labradoodles, my program is making a positive influence to enhance and improve the Australian Labradoodle breed into the future. Nowday's my emphasis on service and therapy dogs, producing quality dogs to improve the live's of many people that need their service. 

The Australian Labradoodles we are breeding today need to be the best quality because they are the foundation of this breed. These dogs will carry on the breed for many many generations to come and for me that challenge of building a breed is very much what thrills me.

Sunrise Australian Labradoodles is registered with the WALA breed registry. We do more then the required health testing and breed to the WALA ALL STAR Health Standard for all our breeding dogs. We raise the puppies in our home so they are bonded with people and socialized right from the start. We do everything we can to make sure your puppy is the very best example of the Australian Labradoole so you will have an incredible family pet to cherish for years to come.
